After receiving responses to our initial letters addressed to the European Commission, the Albanian government, and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Commission, we are seizing this momentum to further our environmental advocacy efforts.
Building on the success of our ‘Red Alert’ campaign, we plan to initiate a second communication campaign, including follow-up letters, and a robust online presence.
A key element of our campaign is collaborating with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Together, we plan to host a webinar focused on the impact of tourism on natural environments and exploring solutions through which sustainable tourism can coexist with biodiversity. This webinar will be a platform for knowledge exchange, where experts, industry stakeholders, and conservationists can converge to discuss innovative and practical solutions that balance economic interests with ecological preservation.
The goal of this second wave of advocacy has two objectives. Firstly, it aims to capitalize on the traction and visibility of the Red Alert campaign. We intend to maintain public and institutional attention on the critical issues by keeping the conversation alive and relevant. Secondly, it seeks to directly engage with the tourism industry, highlighting the integral role of sustainable tourism in safeguarding biodiversity and ensuring the long-term health of our ecosystems.
